Description: This is a joint hike with Beatrice and Andrea from Gaaden to Heiligenkreuz. We will walk up to the Christmas market at the monastery of Heiligenkreuz, and those who feel fresh and fit can join for a tour around four mountains beyond Heiligenkreuz.

The monastery Heiligenkreuz is 1000 years old. There will be a nice Christmas market with a lot of different food, handycraft and beautiful other things. The monks participate and show us their traditional own products in a very special atmosphere. You will have extensive time to look around the market if you do not continue for the second part of the hike. After the second part of the hike we will still continue to the Christmas market, but we will have less time to look around.

Route: Part 1: With Beatrice (and Andrea): From Gaaden along the Via Sacra to Heiligenkreuz – Cat. A / 2 hours Part 2: With Andrea a hike around the mountains beyond Heiligenkreuz – Cat. B / 2.5 hours

Meet: 9.35 at Meidling station near ticket office. Our train S 2 will leave at 9.49 from platform 2. You can also take the S 2 from other stations, we will be in the 1st waggon and get out in Mödling at 10.06 to take the bus 265 to Gaaden at 10.15.

Return: For those who participate only in part 1: at their own at any time from Heiligenkreuz For those who participate also in part 2: Bus leaving Heiligenkreuz at 16.47 – arrival in Vienna approx. 18:00.

Cost: Train and bus ticket from Vienna to Heiligenkreuz and return

Registration: By December 12 evening.
