Salzburg Mountains - Monchsberg and Kapuzinerberg
Description: This is not a cultural trip but a hike up the two mountains on either side of the city of Salzburg. There are a lot of steep, stone stairs involved but the views to the surrounding snowcapped mountains and the views down to the city of Salzburg can be breathtaking with the right weather. A picnic lunch is planned in the Franz Josef Park. Time permitting we will also visit the Wurth sculpture garden and stop for a Salzburg nockerl.
Route: Salzburg train station – Mullnersteig – Monchstein castle(outside only) – Richterhohe – Salzburg castle(outside only) – Stift Nonnberg – Franz Josef Park (picnic lunch) – possible Wurth Sculpture garden – Kapuzinerkloster – Franziskisschlossl – Stefan-Zweig-Weg – Linzerstrasse – Bahnhof.
