VICHIKINGCLUB

Description: Easy, almost flat walk along the Kamp river and through the wonderful Waldviertel landscape. We will have a scenic view and guided tour in the castle of Rapottenstein and stay overnight at Ferienhof Stanzl. On the second day we will hike through meadows and woods to Scönbach and have a late (simple) lunch there.

Route: day 1: Zwettl – Kamptal – Rapottenstein
day 2: Rapottenstein – Schönbach
The distance is 15 to 20 km on each day, there is also a possibility to shorten it by ordering a taxi for part of the was.

Meet: At 6:45 a.m. Spittelau (U4/U6), main floor (Passage), near the ticket machines; train to Krems departs at 7:03. From Krems we take a bus to Zwettl.

Return: At 16:46 by bus from Schönbach to Melk; train to Vienna, arriving at around 19:30.

Cost: EUR 73 for half pension at the Gasthof; lunch packet for day 2 EUR 6,50; cost for train and bus ca. EUR 60 (full price); eventually some taxi sharing, plus club fee. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE NO SINGLE ROOMS!

Registration: By 4 October; as the hike is already fully booked (as of 27 August) additional registrations will be put on the waiting list. Those already registered and have to cancel are requested to do this immediately.
PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN TO MEMBERS.

Note: Please note that this is a backpacking trip; therefore keep your luggage limited; cloathing as per weather conditions, rainwear. Bring lunch for the first day, plus drink! Additional information will be provided to participants later.
