Description:. Discover the many paths in Oberlaa, one of Vienna’s newest parks created in 1974 following an international garden show. There are several lakes, an animal enclosure, and children’s play areas in addition to all of the formal and informal garden areas. Lawn chairs have been scattered around the park to better enjoy views in and out of the park. The Japanese garden area is open on Wednesdays. We stop near the end of our walk for a picnic inside the park. Possible to stop at the Oberlaa Cafe afterwards.

Route:. We will walk through the park from top to bottom and side to side.

Meet:. 5:30 p.m. at the end of U1 Oberlaa on the platform where one exits the U-bahn. We then walk together up to the park.

Return:. Sometime after 8 p.m. to the U1 Oberlaa tram station.

Note:. As written, please bring your own food for a picnic on a grassy hillside with a great view (weather permitting). Almost all of the paths are paved.
